a brief introduction
Throughout the course, we will be exploring characters, both fictional and real, who blur the lines between fiction and reality. It is a voyage of discovery that will take us across centuries, continents, and literary forms as we study the lives of con artists, knights, superheroes, the wealthy, and the poor.
We will be looking at poetry, novels, songs, magazines, newspapers, webpages, blogs, short stories, art, graphic novels, comics, animation, films, television, radio, plays, scripts, and advertising to find answers and provide us with material as we write and create works of poetry, prose, non-fiction and produce audio and visual materials. Links will be provided on this site as we go along, so check back here often - especially if you have missed a class - for assignments, background information, extra information, links to relevant sources, and copies of handouts.
